A powerful and highly atmospheric large stained-glass panel featuring a heraldic lion rampant, proudly displayed within a central oval cartouche. Executed in deep ruby red, luminous emerald green, and warm amber-yellow textured glass, this panel immediately commands attention through its bold geometry and rich colour contrasts.

When sunlight passes through the glass, the panel truly comes alive: the colours ignite and spill softly into the surrounding space, casting a constantly shifting mosaic of warm and vibrant hues. The textured antique glass subtly refracts the light, creating a poetic play of sparkle, depth, and movement that changes with the hour of the day—an effect that simply cannot be replicated by modern glass.
Historical context

Around the turn of the 20th century, stained glass was no longer reserved solely for churches. In prestigious townhouses, stairwells, and civic buildings, decorative panels such as this were commissioned as both artistic statements and symbols of identity. The heraldic lion—an enduring emblem of strength, guardianship, and civic pride—was a favoured motif in this period in France.
