2. Description
 
Electronic Meditation is the seminal debut studio album by Tangerine Dream, recorded in Berlin in October 1969. This release belongs to the legendary "Pink Years" of the Ohr label. Unlike the band's later synthesized sequences, this album is a raw, avant-garde exploration of Krautrock and free-form electronic music. It features the unique, one-time-only lineup of Edgar Froese, Klaus Schulze (on drums), and Conrad Schnitzler. The soundscapes are constructed using traditional instruments—guitar, organ, cello—manipulated through custom electronic Fx and found sounds like broken glass and burning parchment.

VMG Soft-Grading Certification: 8.5

This copy has been professionally evaluated by VMG (Vinyl Media Grading). A grade of 8.5 indicates a very high-quality specimen with minimal signs of wear. The gatefold cover remains crisp with vibrant whites and deep reds, while the vinyl surface exhibits an excellent gloss, suggesting it has been handled with extreme care over the last five decades.

4. Notes for collectors

Edition Status: This is an early 1971 Second Pressing.
Identification: The absolute first edition (1970) is identified by the catalog number OMM 56.004 and a "door cover" (a die-cut hatch at the doll's neck). This 1971 edition (OMM 556 004) is the first standard gatefold version.
Collectibility: Despite being a second pressing, this version is highly prized because it retains the original "Pink Ear" label design and the superior German mastering of the original 1970 release. It is a cornerstone for any serious Krautrock collection.
