Lys Musical maakt deel uit van de FlorDali suite. De suite is geïnspireerd op tekeningen van planten uit de 17e en 18e eeuw. Het landschap is opgedeeld door rechte lijnen die verder in perspectief doorlopen, waardoor de scène de uitstraling krijgt van een droom of een mysterieuze wereld.

Gemaakt in een periode waarin Dali zijn grootste surrealistische krachten bezat. Het werk is uitbundig van kleur en uiterst gedetailleerd, en de afbeelding heeft een diepere betekenis in Daliniaanse termen. Gedreven door de wens om schijnbaar niet-gerelateerde beelden en symbolen naast elkaar te plaatsen, bereikt Dali een artistiek effect dat verenigt en transformeert; hij creëert iets nieuws dat nooit eerder bestond. Dali slaagt erin de betekenis van de beelden, hun onderlinge relatie te veranderen en creëert in wezen een nieuw concept en een 'manier van zien' in zijn eigen surrealistische stijl, uniek en onnavolgbaar.
