“Oumuamua – Fragment I” is a unique contemporary copper sculpture created by Lithuanian artist Aidas Mackevičius in 2026.
This piece is individually hand cast using molten copper. Its elongated form and raw, organic surface are shaped naturally by heat and gravity during the casting process, resulting in an unrepeatable structure.
The sculpture is inspired by the interstellar object ‘Oumuamua’ – the first known visitor from beyond our solar system. The form represents a fragment of a cosmic body, emphasizing natural flow, texture, and material transformation.
