En éste lote se ofrece diente enraizado de Basilosaurus sp. de gran tamaño, "masivo."
Siguiendo la curvatura y como se suele hacer en mediciones de biología, la pieza completa mide 16,7 cm.
"Impresiona sostenerlo entre las manos."
Gran conservación, brillo natural del esmalte muy agradable, es un diente de máxima calidad.
Procede de la cuenca Ad-Dakhla, provincia Oued Ed-Dahab (Suroeste de Marruecos), donde se han reportado restos de Basilosauridos del período Paleógeno, época Eoceno, edades Bartoniense-Priaboniense.
En éste área se encuentra una ubicación paleontológica muy importante por su riqueza en restos de ballenas arqueocetos del Eoceno medio y tardío
Basilosaurus fue una ballena primitiva, gran depredador de los mares de hace unos 40 millones de años, mantenía una dentición única parecida a la de sus ancestros, mamíferos carnívoros terrestres, con colmillos y molares con dentículos muy desarrollados, ninguna ballena actual posee éste tipo de dientes.
