This Philips radio device type BX490A was launched in 1949 and has a Bakelite casing, the sides are provided with a wood pattern. This gives it a warm look that is accentuated by the light-rounded top of the bakelite cabinet. Also contributing to the atmosphere (especially during the evening) is the illumination of the station clock face that glows in its entirety because of its special construction.
What is special about the BX490A is that there are no less than 4 KG tracks besides the LG and MG. There are also options for connecting PU and additional loudspeaker. A tuner is also present. The tubes setting is: ECH21, EAF42, EAF42, EBL21, EM34 and AZ1. The unit is fully inspected and repaired where necessary in original condition. The old front cover is replaced by a beautiful matching cloth. The unit is set to 245V - 50 Hz, so prepared if necessary for further voltage increase.
There may be some slight wear to the device, but it is not distracting. The purchase price was Fl 275,-.
The dimensions of the device are: 460x300x240 mm, the weight is about 10 kg.
Because of the fragility, it is preferred to pick up the device in Amersfoort, NL. Possible shipping will be registered.



In very good condition, complete and fully functional; green “cat eye" is somewhat shaky, but still works.
