Cette pépite provient de la région désertique de Tiris Zemmour au Nord de la Mauritanie, à une centaine de kilomètres d'une zone nommée Guelb Ndour
L'exploitation aurifère dans ce pays n’était réservée qu’à une grosse société industrielle.
Mais depuis 2016 l'exploitation individuelle elle est autorisée au moyen de détecteurs de métaux.

C'est au cours de prospection en 2020 dans le désert de Mauritanie que j'ai découvert cette pépite.
Je la propose telle que je l‘ai découverte, je l’ai seulement nettoyée à l'eau savonneuse.

Malgré que l’exploitation de l’or soit devenue une des premières ressources de la Mauritanie, les pépites sont assez rares car la presque totalité de l’or est fondu en lingots qui sont ensuite envoyés à Dubaï
