Artist design:

Raymond Pierre Guillaume Savignac (born on 6 November 1907 in Paris, France; died on 31 October 2002 in Trouville-sur-Mer, Département Calvados) was a French graphic artist and designer specialising in commercial graphics, internationally known for his poster art.

Raymond Savignac, often abbreviated only "Savignac", began as a student of A. M. Cassandre from 1935 to work as a graphic designer. He was taught basic knowledge at the Ecole Lavoisier in Paris.

His work was characterised above all by a humorous simplicity. One of his greatest successes was a poster he designed for a "milk soap" of Monsavon soaps depicting a cow directly producing the soap with its milk on the udder. Another famous poster was "La Guerre des boutons" ("War of buttons").

He had international commissions for his poster designs and participated in numerous exhibitions worldwide. In 1955 and 1957 he was awarded the first prizes at poster exhibitions in Chicago, USA. In 1964, some of his works (including the "Monsavon poster") were shown at documenta III in Kassel in the graphics department. A permanent exhibition of his works can be seen at the Montebello Museum in Trouville, where he spent the last years of his life.
