Een Divit bestelwagen Qalamdan, een antieke Ottomaanse of Perzische inktkoker. Deze werden traditioneel gebruikt door schrijvers en kalligrafen in het Midden-Oosten.
Materiaal: Het object is gemaakt van messing  wat in de islamitische kunst en ambacht populair was vanwege zijn duurzaamheid en aantrekkelijke gouden tint.
Ontwerp: Het bestaat uit een langwerpig buisvormig compartiment voor het bewaren van rietpennen of penselen, en een aangehechte, rechthoekig of vierkant inktpotje.
Decoratie: Het object is rijkelijk versierd met gegraveerde of gebeitelde decoraties, waaronder kalligrafie in Arabisch schrift en verweven geometrische of plantmotieven. De inktpot heeft een scharnierend deksel, vaak met een schelpachtig motief, zoals hier te zien is.
Periode: Veel vergelijkbare stukken dateren uit de 20e eeuw, hoewel ze soms ouder kunnen zijn.
Gebruik: De divit was essentieel voor reizende schrijvers, zoals staatsfunctionarissen, kooplieden en geleerden, omdat hij hun schrijfgerei veilig en draagbaar hield.
