Plaques de palais - Nigeria - BIni Edo - Bronze cire perdue
Ces extraordinaires plaques en bronze témoignent de l'excellent savoir-faire des artisans bronziers.

Coulées à la cire perdue, elles retracent, à la manière de livres d'images, les faits importants et glorifiants liés aux Obas. Elles étaient clouées sur les murs des palais.

Elles représentent aussi parfois des Européens, tels les dignitaires portugais qui, dès le XVème siècle étaient présents à Ife. 

La grande finesse d'exécution de cette plaque (40 ×30 cm) est inhabituelle dans les productions plus récentes. Le motif est fouillé,  le personnages le relief important.
