Coffre indien sculpté – Rajasthan, vers 1900

Description

Ancien coffre indien en bois sculpté, provenant probablement du Rajasthan, Inde, et fin XIX début du XXe siècle (vers 1900).
Le bois présente une patine ancienne et riche, témoignant de son usage et de son âge. Les panneaux sont ornés de motifs circulaires et floraux finement sculptés, encadrés de frises linéaires. Les ferrures métalliques rivetées renforcent les coins et les arêtes, tandis qu’une poignée centrale et un système de fermeture complètent l’ensemble. Le coffre repose sur quatre pieds courts, typiques des coffres rajasthani de dot ou de mariage.
