El Dorado Single Barrel ICBU
Part of the premium El Dorado Single Barrel Heritage Rums by El Dorado, produced by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL). The acronym ICBU corresponds to 1 aging barrel from a single distillation in Savalle column within the Uitvlugt distillery located on the west bank of the Demerara.

ORIGIN
Distillery: Uitvlugt (closed in 1999), French Savalle Still
Producer: Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL)

NOSE / 1ST IMPRESSION
The rum opens with a smoky and slightly spicy aroma with hints of vanilla, citrus and oak. On the nose, there is a subtle sweetness of Demerara sugar, which balances a slight alcoholic sharpness. The initial impression is energetic, with a hint of fine ash and the historical “old” smoke characteristic typical of the French Savalle column still.
BODY / PALETTE
On the tongue, the rum feels quite fiery, but well balanced. Notes of cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and a soft citrus bitter base appear, complemented by oak tones and a subtle sweetness. Gradually, a spicy complexity is revealed: nutmeg, cloves, black pepper and tobacco smoke. The body is medium-full, with an elegant structure that keeps the taste in harmony – not too sweet, not too dry or bitter.
FINISH / AFTERTASTE
The rum finishes with a long, dry and smooth afterburn, with a lingering spiciness and a subtle tobacco note. The finish is complex, spicy, with hints of Demerara sugar and vanilla that persist for a few minutes. Overall, it feels balanced, mature and sophisticated, ideal for those who appreciate the historical character of Demerara rums and traditional French distillation styles.

The bottle is intact and at full fill level, bottle cap and labels have minor signs of age, as shown in the photos.
