Islamic Bronze Ring – 12th/14th Century AD – 19 mm – 1.55 g

This elegant Islamic bronze ring, dating from the 12th to 14th century AD, exemplifies the refined simplicity of medieval craftsmanship in the Islamic world. The flat bezel is engraved with a cross-hatched symbol or motif, perhaps calligraphic or geometric in nature, which may have held personal, talismanic, or cultural meaning to its original wearer. The band is thin yet resilient, shaped in a seamless curve that speaks to the artisan’s skill and the utilitarian grace of its design.

Despite the passage of centuries, the ring has retained its structural integrity. The patina is dark and smooth, characteristic of ancient bronze, and enhances its historic aura. Slight bending on the hoop indicates long use or burial, but the ring remains visually compelling and wearable in a symbolic sense. Such rings would have circulated widely across the Islamic world, carried along the routes of merchants, pilgrims, and scholars alike.
