L'oggetto nell'immagine è un caricatore di pellicola per cineprese, probabilmente per pellicole da 35 mm. 
Si tratta di un accessorio utilizzato nelle vecchie cineprese per contenere e alimentare la pellicola durante le riprese. 
Il caricatore è composto da due scomparti rotondi, uno per la pellicola vergine e l'altro per quella esposta. 
Questo tipo di attrezzatura era comune prima dell'avvento delle telecamere digitali, quando le immagini venivano registrate su pellicola fotosensibile. 
La pellicola da 35 mm è stata un formato standard per la fotografia e il cinema, introdotto alla fine del XIX secolo. 
Il meccanismo permetteva di caricare la pellicola alla luce del giorno, proteggendola dall'esposizione accidentale.
