Specchiera Art Déco "a Scudo" – Manifattura Artigianale Europea (1920-1930 ca.) – Cristallo al Mercurio

Elegante specchiera da parete dalle linee decise, pienamente ascrivibile al gusto Art Déco degli anni Venti e Trenta. L'opera si distingue per la sua struttura a forma di scudo, un design tipico del periodo che fonde l'austerità delle forme geometriche con la morbidezza delle volute floreali nella cimasa.

Caratteristiche Costruttive:

La Cornice: Realizzata in legno massello ebanizzato (tinto nero) con sottili profili interni in foglia d'oro (o doratura a missione). La struttura è un eccellente esempio di ebanisteria artigianale pre-industriale: la cornice non è un pezzo unico stampato, ma è costituita da quattro elementi distinti assemblati tramite incastri a tenone e mortasa, chiaramente visibili sul retro.

La Cimasa: La parte superiore è finemente intagliata a mano con motivi naturalistici stilizzati e una stella a sei punte centrale, simbolo ricorrente nel design decorativo dell'epoca, che conferisce all'oggetto una sobria eleganza.

Il Vetro (Elemento di Pregio): Lo specchio presenta un cristallo d'epoca di altospessore (circa 5-6 mm), con riflessione a base di amalgama (probabilmente mercurio/stagno). In controluce, il vetro mostra la tipica "vibrazione" o leggera ondulazione dovuta alla tiratura manuale della lastra. La presenza di leggeri "fiori" (foxing) e ossidazioni puntiformi non sono difetti, ma autentici certificati di antichità che ne attestano l'originalità e il carattere non manomesso.

Stato di Conservazione:

L'oggetto si presenta in buono stato di conservazione originale. La struttura è solida. Si segnala una naturale fessurazione del legno sul lato sinistro, dovuta al fisiologico ritiro delle fibre lignee nel corso di un secolo, dettaglio che ne conferma l'epoca e non ne compromette la stabilità. Lo schienale posteriore è integro, composto da assi di legno massello ossidate dal tempo, fissate con chiodatura originale.
