Edouard Culot

Deze antieke houten schrijfkist is vervaardigd uit een donkere houtsoort, mogelijk notenhout of een vergelijkbaar type hout. Het object heeft een scharnierend deksel en is aan de voorzijde voorzien van een uitschuifbare lade. De binnenzijde van zowel het deksel als de lade is bekleed met een lichter materiaal, wat zorgt voor een fraai contrast met het donkere hout.

De schrijfkist is zowel praktisch als decoratief. Het deksel biedt ruimte voor het opbergen van papieren of kleinere voorwerpen die u snel bij de hand wilt hebben, terwijl de lade geschikt is voor grotere items zoals boeken of andere persoonlijke bezittingen. De aanwezige gebruikssporen dragen bij aan de authentieke uitstraling en onderstrepen de leeftijd en het historische karakter van dit stuk.

Conditie:
De conditie is goed. Aan de onderzijde loopt een scheur en er is lichte houtschade aanwezig langs de rand van de onderkant. Het interieur vertoont verkleuringen, met name aan de binnenzijde. Het hout aan de bovenzijde heeft een wat grovere nerf. Verder zijn er enkele kleine krassen en vlekken zichtbaar, zoals te zien op de foto’s. Het slot is werkend.
