Statue IKENGA IGBO (IBO) / 
Nigeria en bois polychrome dur à patine brune foncée noir, pigments rouges et blancs.
Hauteur: 94 cm.  Largeur 30 cm.  Poids 4 Kg.

RARE IKENGA Igbo, représentant un personnage masculin  les bras coudés tenant un oliphant et une canne de dignitaire. La coiffure ajourée est composée d'un entrelacs complexe mêlant bestiaire (serpents, félins, singes, buffles) et personnages en buste.

Les statues ikenga sont utilisées lors de cultes masculins, placées sur des autels personnels ou familial, afin d'apporter réussite et succès dans le domaine matériel, social et politique. L'utilisation des ikenga est essentiellement présente parmi les Ibo.

Quelques accidents (voir photo) mollet gauche et fissures, la coiffe restaurée localement, assez fragile pour un envoi poste d'ou une préférence pour une remise en main propre Paris 11è.
