About the series:
The photo series "tierwald" by Frank Machalowski is an impressive example of contemporary photographic art that combines traditional and modern techniques. By using black-and-white photography, Machalowski creates a strong visual atmosphere that highlights the contrasts and the mystical mood of the foggy forest. The choice to stage exotic animals within a European natural setting opens a fascinating connection between reality and fantasy, encouraging the viewer to reflect. The combination of analog and digital techniques emphasizes the artist's artistic versatility and creative approach, creating a magical world that appears both surreal and poetic. Overall, "tierwald" is an artistic reflection on the connection between nature, imagination, and human creativity.
