San Cristoforo e' il protettore dei viaggiatori :
Durante il periodo bellico i militari usavano indossare come oggetto "protettivo" la medaglietta del santo con il bastone che trasporta il bambin gesu' sulle spalle
Alcuni marchi come l'americana Benrus (marchio poi rilevato dalla Hamilton) e l'europea Omega introdussero nelle loro produzioni di orologi dei modelli con il quadrante che riproduceva l'immagine del Santo indossata dai militari e dai naviganti
Oggi di questi orologi ne esistono in circolazione solo alcuni rari esemplari
