Gerecycled plastic / Niet geschikt voor gebruik buitenshuis


De Endless Chair is het zwaarbevochten afstudeerproject van Dirk van der Kooij. Als wereldprimeur paste hij een pneumatische robotarm aan om meubels te extruderen uit gerecycled plastic. Terwijl onze huidige robots met vaste hand extruderen, is het golvende patroon bewust behouden. Nu geprint uit warm, transparant plastic versterken de zachte golvingen de lichtbreking en roepen ze associaties op met geslepen kristal. In het jaar van zijn ontwerp won de Endless Chair lof in de vorm van de Dutch Design Award. De stoel maakt nu deel uit van de collecties van het MoMA, het Stedelijk Museum en het Design Museum in Londen.
