Deze bijzondere viool draagt een etiket met de tekst: “Johann Stephan Thumhard, Lautten- und Geigenmacher in Straubing, 17..”.
Johann Stephan Thumhard(t) (1749–1817) was een bekende Duitse viool- en luitbouwer, werkzaam in Straubing en later in München. Zijn instrumenten worden gewaardeerd om hun vakmanschap en warme klank.

De viool verkeert in gebruikte maar verzorgde staat, passend bij de leeftijd. Het houtwerk en de lak tonen een fraaie patina. Exacte datering en authenticiteit van het etiket zijn niet door een expert vastgesteld, maar de stijl en de signatuur wijzen op eind 18e of begin 19e eeuw.

This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.
