Besides his personal passion and collection, Karsten has dedicated a large part of his free time to updating Disney comics in archival databases and has been researching vintage Disneyana since 2008. He’s been an administrator for German and Asian comics in the Disney database Inducks for 14 years. Over time, he’s taken a particular interest in materials from the 1930s, back when things weren’t as sleek and Disney’s makers still had plenty of freedom to experiment. As a Comics Expert at Catawiki, Karsten enjoys how there are always new objects to look into. He’s also a qualified Archaeologist, attesting to his investigative spirit. A particular highlight that came across his desk recently? A Spanish Dumbo plush toy from Barcelona from circa 1941 that had never appeared in auction before.
