Andilla, an original oil on canvas landscape by Antonio Francés from the 1960s to 1970s, Spain, measuring 60 × 50 cm (74 × 62 cm with the frame) and signed on the front, sold with the frame.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas depicting a hill landscape of the Valencian hinterland, with a rural village, houses with red tiled roofs, and a central bell tower that structures the composition. The painting offers an authentic and poetic view of the territory, characterized by warm light and a perspective articulated along winding paths.
The work is executed with a thick, textured paint, typical of Antonio Francés's production, with extensive use of spatula and dense brushstrokes that build volumes and surfaces. The color palette alternates between greens, ochres, and warm earth tones, creating depth and movement.
Firmata 'A. Francés' at the bottom on the front. On the back, there is the inscription 'Andilla – Valencia', which identifies the depicted place.
Mounted in a gilded wooden cornice, contemporary and well proportioned to the work.
