Olympus AF-1 35mm film camera with Zuiko 35mm f/2.8 autofocus lens, tested and working, weatherproof and dust and sand resistant, serial number 1503444, dating 1986–1999, in very good physical condition, with the original leather case.
Description from the seller
Very nice Olympus AF-1, with original leather case
The camera is in excellent condition and works.
It has a Zuiko 35mm 1:2.8 autofocus lens.
This is a legendary camera with a weatherproof body (wind, sand and rain resistant).
Width 12 cm
height 6 cm
depth 4.5 cm
When it was introduced at the 1986 PMA, the press praised this very compact device.
It has a weatherproof autofocus, which means it can withstand hours of rain without damage. It is also dust and sand resistant.
Its lens is a high-resolution Zuiko 2.8/35 mm. The lens is fully motorized, in 6 steps. The shutter, which provides shutter speeds between 1/30 and 1/750, is an innovative technology, as it contains 80% fewer parts than a normal shutter.
There is a window in front of the lens. A shutter protects the front of the camera during transport.
Below the flash is the acronym ESP. This indicates the presence of a light metering module, which is also found in the OM-40. It is based on the use of two cells located under the lens. One performs spot metering, the other total light metering. A program compares the results of the two measurements and judges whether the flash should fire automatically based on the difference. The system handles background lighting very well for centrally focused subjects and makes excellent use of fill light. Of course, in low light conditions the flash operates automatically. The flash recharges very quickly. One LED lights up for 10 films before the battery runs out.
The DX encoding recognizes sensitivities between ISO 50 and 3200.
