Year: 1808.
- Inscriptions: CAROLUS IIII DEI GRATIA on the obverse; HISPAN ET IND REX with the crowned shield between columns on the reverse.
- Grade: AU Details (NGC).
Coin minted at the Mexico mint with assay marks TH. The obverse features the laureate portrait of the monarch looking to the right, with a draped bust and cuirass, surrounded by the royal legend. The reverse displays the crowned coat of arms of Spain quartered with Castile, León, Granada, and the Bourbon fleurs-de-lis in the central escutcheon, flanked by the Columns of Hercules with their respective legends, all encircled by a circular inscription. A well-centered specimen with still-visible details in the portrait and shield. A historically representative coin and highly sought after within the series of the 8 reales colonial coins of Mexico.
