Silver figure of a standing wading bird, likely a great egret, in solid Spanish silver (.915) with Madrid contrasts, 30 cm tall, 4.5 cm wide, 9 cm deep, weighing 227 g, on a lacquered wooden base, origin Spain, period 1930–1940, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique sculpture of a stork in solid silver (possibly a great egret / 'imperial heron'), created by master silversmiths from Madrid.
A piece of great artistic quality, with very fine chisel work that reproduces in detail the plumage, the shape of the neck, and the long legs characteristic of herons.
The figure is made of solid Spanish silver (Madrid contrasts), clearly visible in the images (Madrid star + silversmith's mark).
The base ('peana') is made of lacquered wood, original to the piece.
