Rare antique commode with inlay decoration, featuring three drawers and a curved front, also known as 'Petit Commode' (small commodes).

A French commode is a piece of furniture placed in representative rooms such as a large salon or hallway. Each drawer can be opened with solid bronze handles and features original locks with intricately cast keys. The curved sides are decorated with quarter-panel inlays made of satinwood, fruitwood, and kingwood.

The dresser stands on elegant, ebonised cabriole legs with brass feet and beveled edges, also decorated with inlays. The curved tops with stylish inlays give this versatile small dresser an elegant touch. Due to its shallow depth, these dressers are ideal as a console table in the hallway, as a side table, or even as a bedside table.
