Fossil of Nothosaurus youngi
Complete and well-preserved specimen dating from the Triassic, from Asia.
Species: Nothosaurus youngi
Period: Triassic
Origin: Asia
Fossil length: 141 cm
Dimensions of the slab: 151 × 58 × 4 cm.
The fossil, free of restorations, is in excellent condition. A complete skull with characteristic teeth protruding from the matrix by over 1 cm is visible. The specimen also retains the gastralia (ventral ribs), clearly distinguishable in the abdominal area.
The tail is naturally disarticulated, while the neck shows a slight translation attributable to a fault in the limestone slab.
It is a rare find in terms of completeness, integrity, and anatomical readability.
