Description from the seller
50mm f/2. Introduced in 1975, the FT2 represents the mature evolution of the renowned Nikkormat series, appreciated worldwide by photographers for its entirely metal and indestructible construction, earning it the nickname of the 'tank' of analog photography. Compared to previous models, the FT2 incorporates a flash hot-shoe with a fixed contact on the pentaprism and uses modern silver oxide batteries (not mercury), making it still perfectly usable today.
The included objective is the Nikkor-H.C Auto 50mm f/2 (serial number 2182503). The abbreviation 'H' indicates a 6-element (hex) lens design, while 'C' denotes multicoating, which is essential for reducing reflections and increasing contrast, offering sharpness that often surpasses that of the f/1.4 versions of the era.
Technical data sheet and conditions (from the attached test).
The camera is presented in very good condition. The mechanics have been checked and are fully operational in all parts: the shutter responds correctly at all speeds (including slow ones), the self-timer is operational, and the film transport is smooth. The TTL light meter has been tested and is functioning, ensuring accurate readings.
From an optical perspective, the lens features clean, defect-free glass that could compromise image quality. The F-mount is in excellent condition, ensuring a solid connection. A ready-to-use set for those seeking the pure Nikon mechanical experience or a collectible piece of history.
