Carl Zeiss Planar T 1.7/50mm lens, in good physical condition and tested and functioning, dating from 1960–1970 with Contax/Yashica mount and original box.
Description from the seller
In Asta, a magnificent Carl Zeiss Planar T 50mm f/1.7* with Contax/Yashica (C/Y) mount. Often considered one of the sharpest 'normal' lenses ever produced, this lens is renowned for delivering resolution even superior to the f/1.4 version, with excellent contrast already at full aperture. The 7-element Planar optical scheme ensures an extremely flat and accurate image rendering, ideal for environmental portraits and general photography.
Equipped with the legendary Zeiss T-star anti-reflective treatment, the lens offers saturated, vibrant colors and top-tier flare resistance, providing that characteristic 'micro-contrast' that adds three-dimensionality to shots. Compact and lightweight, it is a perfect travel companion that does not compromise optical quality.
Technical sheet and conditions (from the attached test).
The specimen is in generally good condition. Aesthetically, the barrel shows signs of use ('moderate') that tell its story without impairing its functionality. The mechanics are perfect: the focus ring moves smoothly, and the diaphragm responds with precision and sharp clicks.
The lenses are in very good condition, clean and crystal clear, free of scratches or optical defects that could affect the images. The bayonet shows signs of use ('discreet, used') but ensures a solid and secure mount. The lot includes its original box and the front cap from Contax, a detail that enhances its value for collectors and enthusiasts.
