Although he experimented with the figure and religious themes, his style matured into luminous, serene landscapes with a firm brushstroke, influenced by Sorolla's light and Velázquez's sobriety. Faithful to his ethics and conviction that art was 'an escape to a world where poetry and tenderness reside,' Iniesta stayed apart from the vanguards of the 1960s, preferring a serene religiosity expressed in the landscapes of his homeland, leaving a prolific legacy of nearly 5,000 works.
