This chopper was made from local quartzite. The site of Alpiarça south of Lisbon has yielded quite a lot of Middle Paleolithic material during the construction of a swimming pool and a park. These choppers are associated with tools from the later Acheulean (Micoquian) of this find site.
Soft patinated roll traces, intact, no restorations. Beautiful processing marks (see detail photos).
