Large Middle Paleolithic Levallois flake made from chalcedony and found in the vicinity of Sguiet-El-Hamra, Western Sahara, Morocco. Created based on a Levallois-type flake and further retouched. The revolutionary technique of Levallois-type flakes is a method where a core block was carefully prepared, allowing a perfect blade (with a characteristic triangular shape) to be struck off. The core was not used further.
