Desso, a Dutch mid‑20th‑century maker, presents a long‑pile acrylic rug measuring 345 cm by 250 cm in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Long-pile rug for Desso
A burst of visual energy and warmth typical of the 1970s, this Desso rug is presented at auction as an iconic example of Space Age textile design. Characterized by a radial geometric pattern in warm earth tones, this significant and large piece perfectly embodies the psychedelic and functional aesthetic of the period.
Design and history
Produced by the renowned Dutch company Desso, this rug features a symmetrical graphic pattern that plays with broken lines and color gradations to create a three-dimensional depth effect. This design reflects the influence of 'Pop Culture' applied to home decor. In the 1970s, in fact, the rug was no longer just an accessory but the chromatic focal point of the room.
Conditions of the lot
The large rug listed in this auction is in excellent used condition.
It is a high-quality model demonstrated by the density of the weave and, above all, by its approximate weight of around 40 kg.
The rug had the production label Desso, which unfortunately was lost, but the label regarding the fiber composition from Buyer Dralon remains.
Dimensions:
Width: 250 cm
Length: 345 cm
Don't miss the chance to acquire this extraordinary Desso rug, a true masterpiece of vintage textile that transforms the floor into a dynamic and tactile design element.
The Producer: Desso
Founded in the Netherlands, Desso became a global benchmark in the 1960s and 1970s for the production of high-quality carpets.
