Juniperus procumbens is a plant native to China and Japan. In nature, it reaches up to 4 meters in height and belongs to the Cupressaceae family. Thanks to its distinctive reddish bark and light, highly resistant wood to decay, juniper is well suited for working with 'dry wood.' The procumbens variety, with its compact foliage made up of very short needles, is the most suitable for being crafted in various styles. This plant has been worked using the Tanuki method.
