Puck phonograph, Sirene model, manufactured in 1905, in good physical condition and tested and working, weighing 11 kg, with two items in total and including an extra object as described.
Description from the seller
The Puck style of phonographs was a phenomenon from the late 1890s to around 1906. These simple but charming phonographs were inexpensive; sometimes one was given away for free with the purchase of 24 cylinders. The most common variant is the cast iron lyre-shaped Puck, but the one offered here has an elegant mermaid as its foot. Usually made in France or Germany, many of them lack identification marks and were produced by external manufacturers for sale by other companies.
The device must be placed flat; otherwise, the needle of the disc would slip. This device is equipped with an adjustable screw to ensure that the cylinder is horizontal. They have a small spring motor that is wound with a key; the motor is connected to the cylinder bus with a string (the string may need replacing). The device is entirely original; the reproducer is a meticulous replica, and the painting of the horn and the foot is original with a beautiful patina.
Included is an original and rare Columbia was roll box containing 11 phonograph records—most in used but good condition. The key for the box is missing.
Phonograph dimensions: Length 30 cm, width 16 cm; horn is 35 cm long and 24 cm wide.
Box dimensions: 28 x 42 x 13 cm. To view and listen to (soundclip) at: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BYHglzTKp50
It is a charming but simple device—don't expect high-fidelity sound quality.
