André Raffin was born in 1927 in Évreux, France. He is one of the most distinguished artists of the Normandy School, succeeding Eugène Boudin, Raoul Dufy, Orthon Friesz, and the great Monet himself. He held his first exhibition at the age of twenty at the Autumn Salon in Paris. He then became a professional artist and won numerous awards, including the "Young Painter's Prize." Later in his life, André organized several very successful exhibitions in Wimbledon, Great Britain, and after his death in 2005, his paintings continue to generate keen interest.
