Afternoon sun is an original oil painting by Reinhold Kukla (1877–1965) from Austria, dated 1900–1910 and depicting a historical scene, hand signed, sold with its frame, measuring 91 cm wide by 77 cm high and weighing 7 kg.
Description from the seller
Original title of the author: Nachmittagssonne ( in English: afternoon sun”).
This view of a backyard of a Austrian farmstead was executed in 1920 by renowned and good listed Austrian animal and landscape painter Reinhold Kukla ( 1877 Lubljana - 18965 St.Gallen ). He studied at the Vienna Academy by Franz Rumpler, Eduard von Lichtenfels and Christian Griepenkerl. Since 1923 he was a member of Vienna Artist Union "Künstlerhaus",. where he was awarded with Gold Laurel.
Our work was exhibited by the artist at exhibition of Viennese Artist Union Künstlerhaus in 1925.

Inscription: signed lower right and dated 1920, on the back are two labels: artist's label with his name and adress and original title in German; the label of Viennese artist Union Kuenslerhaus with inventory number, dated 1925.
Technique: oil on canvas, original period frame.
Measurements: unframed w 27 1/8" x h 21 5/8" (69 x 55 cm), framed w 35 3/4" x h 30 1/3" (91 x 77 cm)
Condition: in very good condition.
