Timm Rautert, born in Tuchola in 1941, studied photography under Otto Steinert at the Folkwang School of Design in Essen from 1966 to 1971. Among his recent book projects are: Gehäuse des Unsichtbaren (1992); Eigenes Leben (1994); Koordinaten (2000); Arbeiten (2000), and Deutsche in Uniform (2007). Rautert has worked since 1993 as professor of photography at the "Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst" in Leipzig.
