Marvelous very rare porcelain sculpture of a “ Rhinoceros Beetle” displaying a great hence, on a rock with foliage beneath, made by Royal Dux Bohemia, prestigious Czech porcelain factory since 1860. It is a highly eye catching porcelain sculpture, magnificent sculpted and glazed, painted in naturalistic colors. The Rhinoceros Beetle is one of the largest beetles found in Europe. The elytra are reddish brown with a glazed appearance, while the head and pronotum are slightly darker. The underside of the body and the legs are covered with long red hair. The male's head is topped by a long curved horn (hence its common name), while the females have no horns. The rhinoceros beetle, known as Kabutomushi in Japan, carries deep symbolic meaning, representing strength, power, and perseverance. This iconic insect is a source of pride and cultural identity, intricately linked to Japanese tradition. It is in excellent condition, made in Bohemia (former Czechoslovakia country), marked accordingly on the back of the base, triunghiular pink triangle added over, and original golden label even on the top of the base, impressed numbered #31, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
