José Miralles Darmanin (1851-1900) - Le due madri

Stunning and rare painting by Josè Miralles Darmanin (1851-1900), a highly important 19th-century Spanish painter. The work depicts a mother returning from the pasture with her daughter, probably just out of school. Mother and daughter are accompanied by a cow and her calf, set in the French plains, likely near Paris where the artist spent part of his life. The artistic execution is superb, and the condition is more than good. The piece measures 56*84 cm and is sold without a frame. The canvas was auctioned at a leading Italian auction house and sold for the price shown in the last photo (plus commissions).
