Pietro Vanni (1925-2002) - Madonna - NO RESERVE

Oil on canvas, created by the artist Pietro Vanni, as shown in the photo, the work depicts the Madonna holding a newborn Jesus Christ. The piece does not require restoration; in fact, I believe it is in excellent condition.
The work is provided together with the frame visible in the photo, made of wood, probably from the 1960s.
Artist biography
Pietro Vanni's works are always distinguished by the personal interpretation that the painter from Terzone di Leonessa has consistently been able to provide. The artist's main goal is not to achieve perfect naturalistic realism (even though he operates within a figurative language). Formally, Vanni is primarily interested in constructing a composition made of pure volumes. There is a true geometric approach that ensures the architectural backdrops create a precise orthogonal perspective. An exaltation of the traditional values of Italian painting—plasticism and rationality—is further enlivened by Vanni's application of dense colors with vivid tones.

Pietro Vanni was a painter from Terzone di Leonessa, where he was born in 1925 and passed away in 2002. Self-taught, he spent a long time balancing his artistic calling with social activities as a leader of a Catholic-inspired workers' movement. Eventually, he decided to dedicate himself entirely to art, training in Rome with Professor Manzano. He exhibited his works at various events, including the Bologna Sacred Art Biennale, where he achieved notable success.
