biography
Ukrainian Soviet painter. People's Artist of Ukraine, associate professor at Cherkasy National University 'B. Khmelnitsky,' a brilliant representative of the Kiev school of painting, its traditions, and gender diversity. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. The artist was born on October 1, 1944, in the village of Yazyzor, Cherkasy region. He graduated from Odessa Art College, M.B. Grekova, and the Kiev Art Institute, Faculty of Painting (studio of People's Artist of Ukraine Professor V. Shatalin). His art teacher considers masters of painting to be the People's Artist of Ukraine, winner of the National T. Shevchenko Prize, Fyodor Zakharov. Since 1975, Ivan Bondar has worked as an artist-painter in the artistic production workshops of Cherkasy. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1985. Ivan Bondar is a regular participant in regional, republican, pan-union, and international exhibitions, as well as Ukrainian and international plein air events. Throughout his creative career, Ivan Bondar has held numerous solo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. His works are preserved in the Ukrainian Art Fund, in many state museums of Ukraine, and in private collections in Germany, Great Britain, Japan, the USA, Nigeria, Australia, Yugoslavia, Canada, Russia, and other countries.
