Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Florentine-style small sideboard from the early 20th century, in wood with a gold leaf finish and hand-painted green motifs and ornamental scrolls; measures 72 cm high, 62 cm wide and 33 cm deep, with three drawers on the left and a single door on the right; in good used condition with signs of age such as light wear and spots.
Description from the seller
Small cabinet in Florentine style, first half of 20th-century Italy.
Small mobile piece with a Florentine-inspired touch, recognizable by its gold lacquer finish and hand-painted decoration featuring green patches and ornamental motifs of scrolls and swirls, inspired by the Tuscan tradition that reinterprets the Baroque and Rococo repertoire in a domestic and decorative key.
In the Florentine style of the early twentieth century, it is typical to seek a 'warm' stage presence, achieved through gold leaf / mecca finishes, patinas, and painted details, often on wavy lines and shaped legs.
The furniture features three drawers on the left front and a door on the right side, a practical and very appealing solution for the entrance, next to a bed, in a living room, or at a seaside house: a piece capable of illuminating the space with the elegant dialogue between gold and green, and with that lived-in patina that tells its story.
• Period: first half of the 20th century (attribution based on stylistic analysis)
• Style: Florentine, with a gold finish and painted/decorative ornaments typical of Tuscan artisan tradition.
Good overall condition, with normal signs of age consistent with its age: minor wear, abrasions, and local losses or wear of the finish, especially on edges, borders, and areas of greater contact. The overall patina is pleasing and authentic.
Proper packaging with shockproof protections (bubble wrap, corner protectors, double cardboard, and fillers) and special attention to edges, legs, and handles.
Traceable shipping with professional packaging across Europe.
