Antique wooden bread box – Early 20th century
Old solid wood bread bin, a traditional piece of furniture used in French kitchens, dating from the early 20th century (around 1900–1930). This type of furniture was specifically designed for storing bread and baguettes, while ensuring good ventilation to preserve their freshness.
The chest features a narrow, vertical silhouette, topped with a curved backrest and a tablet. The front is decorated with turned spindles revealing an antique decorative paper with geometric patterns, typical of the period and contributing to internal ventilation. The closed lower section completes the storage space.
