Description from the seller
A splendid and rare collector's set of four different Moka pots (or pressure coffee makers), all made of aluminum. This lot offers a fascinating insight into the history of Italian home coffee design and production in the 20th century.
The set includes four unique pieces, illustrating the variety of shapes and functions of the moka pot design:
Traditional Coffee Maker: A classic model with a cylindrical body and black Bakelite handle, typical of the more robust models. It could also be used as a jug.
Classic Moka Pot: The most iconic model. It features an elegant bulbous shape in the lower boiler and a tapered upper body, with a black handle and knob. Special note: The presence of a decorative red gasket/ring (visible in the first photo) emphasizes its design.
“Mini” or Travel Coffee Maker: An unusual model with a tall, narrow body and two closely spaced spouts (or handles), indicative of a compact design or specific functionality (such as an older Mini Express model or similar).
Wide-Based Coffee Maker: A moka pot with a wider base and a flatter top design, offering greater stability on the stovetop and a different aesthetic.
Conditions and Material
Material: All coffee makers are made of polished aluminum.
Condition: The items are in vintage/used condition, with obvious signs of age and use (patina, small stains, light scratches) that attest to their authenticity and history. These imperfections are considered an added value for collectibles and decorative items.
Handles: The handles are made of black Bakelite or thermoplastic material, in good structural condition.
Interior: As is typical of vintage moka pots, the inside of the boilers features a dark patina from the coffee.
Ideal For
Collectors of Italian kitchenware, lovers of vintage design, coffee enthusiasts, or as a decorative element for rustic or industrial-style kitchens.
