Description from the seller

Beautiful 19th-century disk candle holders made of bronze or yellow copper (brass). Originating from the Netherlands.

This type of candlestick is also called a Heemskerk candlestick, named after the Dutch navigator Jacob van Heemskerk. The design developed in the 15th century and became particularly popular in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

The candlesticks consist of a wide base and a baluster-shaped stem, with a dish in the middle to collect the candle wax.

The candlesticks are 27cm tall. The base has a diameter of 109cm, and each tray is 13cm in diameter. The candlesticks weigh approximately 1150 grams each.

The candlesticks are in good condition, with light signs of use/wear. Please view the photos for a good impression.
