Description from the seller
Art Deco vase 'Anthar' from the Belgian glass and crystal factory Val Saint Lambert.
The 'Anthar' model was created in 1922 by Joseph Simon and is made in Topaze-colored crystal. Topaze is one of the three VSL colors (alongside Blue Pompéi and Améthyste) that were exclusively used during the Art Deco period.
The vase is in very good condition with age-appropriate wear on the bottom. No chips or flea bites. High-quality crystal with a high lead content. VSL crystal is recognized by the clarity of the glass and the weight of the pieces.
Unmarked like all VSL products of this age, but clearly recognizable by shape, quality, weight, and color. The vase is depicted on page 265 of Michèle Thiry's book: 'De L’Art Deco aux Annees 50, Le verre et le cristal belges dans le monde,' Rotary Club, 1987 (see illustrations).
This vase is approximately 28 cm high and is in very good condition with minimal signs of use.
Photos are part of the description. Will be carefully packaged, shipped insured, and with a tracking code to your home. We do not ship outside the EU or to (island) countries with special customs regulations.
