Astonishing Pre-Columbian talisman originated from the Taino culture of the Greater Antilles islands in the Caribbean Sea. Artifact was made between the X-XV century, it depicts a finely carved effigy of a Zemi - ancestral spirit as well as the most important deity in Taino beliefs
* Zemis in Taino cosmology symbolized a connection between the physical world and the spiritual realm. Objects with their image were considered to be sacred and played a central role in religious rituals and ceremonial practices.
Ornament has an elongated semi-circular shape with a beautiful natural peachy-white color of the surface. What makes it even more unique is that it has been carved from an animal tooth, material regarded by the Taino as possessing mystical significance and protective powers, especially in times of conflict. Even nowadays this remarkable piece of history can be worn as a pendant. In the upper side of it, there are drilled vertical and horizontal hole so it can be suspended in preferred position,
