Magnificent porcelain statue of a “Leopard”, designed in the 1970’s by the Italian artist Aldo Falchi(1935-2020) for Rosenthal Classic Rose Collection, in excellent condition. It depicts a majestic walking Leopard, with fiercely open mouth and visible teeth, carefully looking for hunting. Hand painted with black spots on gorgeous reddish fur, magnetic eyes, heavily over glazed. Aldo Falchi (1935-2020) was a contemporary Italian artist who relocated in 1959 to Germany, working as a sculptor for the renowned Rosenthal porcelain factory. Having acquired a solid international reputation, in 1973 he received the assignment from the US ambassador to create groups of commemorative sculptures for the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Falchi performed porcelain groups, including “The Declaration of Independence” in 1974, which is on the table of the US President at the White House. It is in excellent more to pristine condition, marked with Rosenthal Classic Rose Collection mark of the period and “handgemalt”(hand made) marked, #5311, impressed Falchi name on the back, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
